Major Price Hikes Rumoured Across All Graphics Cards

It has been over a year since Nvidia’s RTX 50-series first hit the shelves, but the market may be about to face its biggest shock yet.
Reports circulating within the industry suggest that Nvidia is preparing to drastically increase prices on all graphics cards starting next month.
The culprit is the continuing "AI Bubble." As the global frenzy for artificial intelligence accelerates, the cost of VRAM (video memory) has reached critical levels. Because this memory is shared between consumer gaming cards and enterprise AI accelerators, the shortage is driving costs up across the entire board—from entry-level GPUs to the flagship titans.

The 5090: A Shocking Example
While every card is expected to see a price bump, the flagship RTX 5090 serves as a stark example of the scale of these changes.
Currently retailing around $2,000 USD, rumours indicate the 5090 could skyrocket to $5,000 USD almost overnight. This shift would likely reclassify the card from a high-end gaming component to a "pro-sumer" asset, priced to compete with workstation AI hardware.
What does this mean for the UK?
We are still awaiting confirmed GBP pricing, but the outlook suggests a heavy impact.
Current Price: Roughly £1,900 - £2,200.
Rumoured Price: If the $5,000 rumour holds, we could see UK shelf prices soar to between £4,400 and £4,600 once VAT and import duties are applied.
